Exercise helps to maintain a healthy body and enhances longevity. These are true for men and women who manage a regular exercise. But for the older people who are frail and weak and sometimes sickly, certain medical conditions hamper them from doing strenuous exercise. So what type of body exercise is best for them? Some of the safest exercises for the elderly are those that require the least amount of pressure and weight on feet and bones. Elder’s bones are becoming brittle due to degrading bone density. Doctors usually recommend a comprehensive exercise program that includes aerobic exercise and walking and a mild resistance exercise. If you’re not familiar with any exercise program, ask your doctor to recommend a fitness facility or a fitness expert who can help design a comprehensive exercise to follow. No one should be deterred from pursuing exercise because of age. It will never be too late to start an exercise program even for the olds. A little bit of exercise is better than none at all.
